DCSA Releases Individual Engagement Platform to Help Applicants Track Their Vetting Status
The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) released a new public-facing interface called the Individual Engagement Platform (IEP) with the intent to improve transparency and streamline interactions between the government and individuals undergoing personnel vetting. Starting in March 2026, when an applicant is initiated in eAPP to fill out the Questionnaire for National Security Position (SF-86), the email notification from NBIS will include a link to the IEP. This will allow applicants to access near real-time information about their current and previous personnel vetting applications.
The IEP includes a Status Tracker that provides applicants with visibility into the progress of their cases and reduces the number of inquiries to DCSA regarding case status, allowing DCSA personnel to focus on other mission-critical tasks. This is another step to supporting Trusted Workforce 2.0 goals. Over the next several months, DCSA plans to expand the features of the Status Tracker and its user base, ensuring the platform continues to meet the needs of applicants and stakeholders. Here is a one-page fact sheet from DCSA’s website.
On another note, regarding the IEP and how it may affect Continuous Vetting (CV), I sent an inquiry to the DCSA Customer Engagements Team noting that their fact sheet stated individuals can self-report information directly through the application. My question to DCSA was, “Is this information related to an in-progress eAPP for investigation only, or is it also going to be used for Continuous Vetting for self-reporting information in accordance with SEAD 3?” If it is going to be used for CV, it would bypass the requirement to report incidents to their organizational Security Officer or FSO. The answer I got was that TW 2.0 processes were still in development, and they could not provide additional guidance at this time.
